About Mr Ruwan Fernando
With more than 25 years of experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Mr Fernando is one of the senior consultants at St Mary’s Hospital.
In 2006 he was appointed as a Consultant in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and a Subspecialist urogynaecologist at St Mary's Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He is also an Honorary Senior lecturer at the Imperial College, London. In his NHS role, in addition to work on the labour ward managing complicated pregnancies he has regular Urogynaecology outpatient clinics and a number of operating lists. He is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and also the co-director of the RCOG Subspecialty programme in urogynaecology at St Mary’s Hospital.
